I am a graduate of the UTAS Conservatorium soon to commence teaching Bass Guitar and beginner Double Bass from Hobart Music Centre.
My teaching style entails identifying students passions and constructing plan of action to achieve the goals that we set together. Although I offer flexibility when working with the student, there are some things which I feel are integral to understanding music: ear training, theory based knowledge, sightreading, and an exploration of a variety of techniques. Beyond these core aspects of the lessons I am happy to tailor my teaching toward the students goals, whether that be improvisation, performing, or simply learning their favourite covers to play for their own satisfaction.
My experiences include:
- Teaching privately at various times and locations between 2009 and 2012
- Performance experience with the following local Hobart groups: Guerilla Zingari (Gypsy/Folk), Lagoon Hill Zydeco (Zydeco), The Entresz Trio (50's Jazz), Soup (Experimental Jazz/Funk), Django's Tiger (Gypsy Jazz), Ogzalladron (Metal), as well as various jazz ensembles.
Tuition Fee:
- $35 per Half Hour. ($7 of this goes towards studio rental)
- $60 per Hour
I am happy to give discounts if 5 lessons are paid for in advance:
- $150 for 5 half hour lessons.
- $250 for 5 hourlong lessons.
